The goal of the project was to create a modern multifunctional building with cultural and educational functions for citizens. The center appeared due to reconstruction of a former department store building of 70s, with additional three new floors the volume of the building doubled.
The idea of the facade of the building relates to the geology of the region and is a stylization of the geological profile of oil-bearing strata.
The pattern of the curtain-type, perforated facade wraps the main facade as a second layer, which is not only decorative, but also creates a graceful darkening of the interior spaces. The play of light and shadow viewed through the pattern stencil both in the daytime in the interiors and in the evening on the illuminated facade.
